Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum co-founder, has emphasized three big opportunities in the crypto space such as mass wallet adoption, inflation-resistant stablecoins, and Ethereum-powered website logins.

According to Buterin, more developments on wallet infrastructure are needed to make crypto more user-friendly and to ensure that billions of people will be onboarded in the future. In addition, creating a hyperinflation-resistant and globally accessible stablecoin would be a revolutionary feat for the industry.

Lastly, Buterin said that Ethereum can dominate the internet-based applications market by removing the login powers from centralized monopolies like Facebook, Google, and Twitter. “If you can get signed in with Ethereum to work and if you can unseat Facebook and Google and Twitter as the login overlords of the internet, that itself is a huge opportunity, right?” Buterin claimed.

Nigeria to Pass Law That Will Recognize BTC and Other Crypto

The Nigerian government will soon pass a law that will legitimize Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Once the Investments and Securities Act 2007 (Amendment) Bill is signed into law, the power to “recognize cryptocurrency and other digital funds as capital for investment” will be given to the local Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to House of Representatives Committee on Capital Markets Chairman Babangida Ibrahim, the country needs “an efficient and vibrant capital market in Nigeria. For us to do that, we have to be up to date [with] global practices.”
