Sao Paulo Football Team Uses Crypto to Sign Local Player
One of the prominent teams in Brazil’s football scene, Sao Paulo, used USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, to acquire a player from Banfield, a mid-table Argentine team.
Banfield’s Athletic Club Midfielder Giuliano Galoppo was signed to Sao Paulo Futebol Club for 8 million USD Coins ($USDC) in partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Bitso.
According to Bitso Brazil CEO Thales Freitas, this “historical signing of Sao Paulo” was only made possible by crypto’s safety, transparency, and flexibility.
Mercedes-Benz and Polygon Create a Data Sharing Platform
Daimler South East Asia, a part of the Mercedes Benz Group, has partnered with Polygon, an Ethereum Layer-2 scalability platform, to introduce a blockchain-based data-sharing network.
Acentrik, Daimler South East Asia’s new data-sharing platform, will allow businesses and companies to buy and sell data in a decentralized manner.
Other companies from different sectors can also use the platform to exchange different types of data such as clinical trials data, insurance information, scientific studies, and more.
Tiffany & Co Launches “NFTiff” for CryptoPunk Owners
The 184-year-old jewelry maker is collaborating with Chain, a blockchain tech company, to create CryptoPunk owners custom pendants for $50,000 or 30 ETH.
After Tiffany & Co’s exclusive offer for CryptoPunk owners, the NFT collection’s sales volume soared by 248%.
Tiffany & Co tweeted on Sunday:

Moreover, buyers will also receive the pendant’s NFT version.
The handcrafted jewelry will include a minimum of 30 diamonds or gemstones and will hang on an 18K gold chain.
